Nylon filament resistant to heat and chemicals

Nylon filament (PA 12), thanks to its resistance to heat, alcohol and chemicals, is particularly useful for mechanical and technical applications. It is extremely durable, strong and wear resistant. Moreover, it is easily machined with tools designed for metal processing and it is also easily painted, which makes it even more versatile and functional. Nylon PA12 also performs very well at temperatures below 0 degrees Celsius. Thanks to this, it can operate in a wide temperature range and retain its properties.

It is incredibly flexible – it elongate by 50% before it breaks. Nylon PA12 has excellent resistance to chemicals including hydraulic fluids, oil, fuels, grease, salt water, and solvents. This makes it an excellent material for 3D printing in the automotive and industry fields. However,  PA12 is not resistant to concentrated alkalis and acids. This filament is a must-have for every engineering workshop equipped with a 3D printer. For even more demanding projects, we recommend using reinforced nylon filament. Fiberlogy’s product range includes: PA12+CF15 (carbon fibers) and PA12+GF15 (glass fibers).

Due to the shrinkage of the material during printing, it is necessary to use 3D printer with a closed and heated printing chamber. This allows you to maintain a constant temperature around the 3D printed element.
