CarbonX Nylon 6+CF

  • Excellent printability
  • High tensile strength and rigidity
  • Abrasion and wear resistance
  • Improved chemical resistance over traditional 3D printing materials
  • High thermal properties

CarbonX PA6+CF filament is formulated using a PA6 copolymer reinforced with high-modulus carbon fiber. This filament is ideal for anyone that desires a structural component with high modulus, improved chemical and thermal resistance, excellent surface quality, and ease of printing. Gen3 has higher HDT than our previous grades (147C at .45MPa) allowing for expanded use in higher-temp applications.

Unparalleled rigidity gives designers the properties they need to make their 3D printed parts with less material and save weight without sacrificing stiffness.

Use a hardened nozzle

Carbon fiber-reinforced filaments are abrasive and can wear out a standard brass or aluminum nozzle. We therefore strongly recommend coated or hardened steel nozzles.

Print Recommendations

  • Extruder
    240 - 270 °C
CarbonXâ„¢ CF nylon shows improved layer bonding at higher temperatures.
  • Heatbed
    80 - 110 °C
  • Heated Chamber
Not required, but improves layer bonding
  • Nozzle Specs
Hardened Steel with .4mm diameter minimum
  • Layer Height
    0.25 mm or higher
The ideal layer height is 60% of the nozzle diameter. We recommend not printing layers below 0.25 mm with carbon fiber grades. A value below 0.25 mm can create excessive backpressure at the hot end, leading to poor feeding, jamming, drive gear clicking, and filament cutting.
  • Drying Specs
    90 Â°C for 4 hours
