What is Fiberon™ PA612-ESD?
Fiberon™ PA612-ESD is an advanced ESD-safe nylon filament engineered for demanding applications requiring high mechanical strength, heat resistance, and reliable static dissipation. It is reinforced with 10% carbon fiber and designed for industrial environments.
What makes this different from PETG-ESD?
Compared to PETG-ESD, PA612-ESD offers:
• 2× higher heat resistance (up to ~150°C HDT)
• Significantly greater mechanical strength and rigidity
• Better wear resistance in cleanroom and friction-heavy applications
• Lower moisture absorption for more stable long-term performance
What are the ideal use cases for PA612-ESD?
This filament is ideal for:
• PCB storage boxes
• ESD-safe shelves and racks
• High-temperature electronic housings
• Structural components for cleanrooms
• Industrial jigs and fixtures
What are the printing recommendations?
• Nozzle Temp: 280–300°C
• Bed Temp: 40–50°C
• Dry before printing: 100°C for 10–16h
• Use a hardened steel or ruby nozzle to avoid wear
• Recommended support: PolySupport™ for PA12
Is PA612-ESD moisture sensitive?
Yes. Like most nylons, PA612-ESD is hygroscopic and should be kept dry during storage and printing. Use a dry box or dry it before use. Wet filament will impact surface quality and dimensional accuracy.
Is it AMS compatible?
Yes. PA612-ESD is available in a 1kg format suitable for AMS systems. It is also offered in 500g and 3kg spools depending on your use case. The 3kg spool will not fit in popular multi-material systems.
What kind of ESD protection does it offer?
Surface resistivity ranges from 10⁴ to 10⁷ Ω/sq depending on temperature and print orientation, ensuring safe static dissipation for sensitive electronics.
Can I use this filament for high-speed printing?
Yes. PA612-ESD supports up to 300mm/s print speeds when properly dried and printed with compatible hardware like the Bambu X1C.
Is this filament flame retardant?
No. PA612-ESD is not rated as UL94 V0 flame retardant. If flame resistance is required, consider PPS-ESD or other FR-certified materials.
